Dear Santa:-

Having been my usual ornery and sinful self this year, I
wouldn't presume to ask for personal attention. But I've got
a lot of buddies in the Adamcon community who have been really
good, so I'd like to suggest some suitable little somethings
you might drop off for them tonight. Some of the more deserv-
ing candidates for your list might be:-

Howard and Elizabeth Pines - three Star of Courage medals. One
each, and one jointly shared.

Rich Drushel - a reward he gets out proportional to the effort
he puts in.

Bob and Judy Slopsema - attendance at an Adamcon as good as
their Adamcon 09.

B. David Cobley - a world that comes closer to meeting his
standards - we'd all be better off.

Bob Sebelist - a clear road, a clear day, a bike and the
freedom to enjoy them.

PJ - One hundred hugs in October in Orlando - one from each
Adamcon 10 registrant.

Herman and Zandra Mason - a happy-go-lucky anniversary trip.
Joe and Helen Alford - even just one day to sit back, relax,
and laugh.
Zonker - an ISP to call his own.

Bob Bair - the very first copy of Adam Bomb III (y'hear, Steve?)

Maurice Kendrick - health to match his heart.

Of course there are others who are getting on just fine, but
belong high up your treat list. Like:

Ron Mitchell - an Amiga to round out his collection of every
computer ever made.

George Koczwara - a soft wind from the south, bearing overdue
royalties.

Dale Wick - a project thaat actually gets completed. ANY
project.

Jean Stone - your call, Santa. Just be as generous-spirited as
she is.

Jerry and Kathi Vrancks - more meeting and members for 463, and
more articles for the newsletter.

Gene Welch - a SCSI interface that works with the Adam.

Faye Deere - enough royalties for a carload of catfood and kitty
litter.

Then of course, Santa, there are those who are just impossible
to buy for - like "the girls" from Cleveland - Pat Williams
and Jean White. But make sure you're especially nice to Guy
Bona, Murray McCullough and Neil Wick. And don't forget the
folks who can't make it to Adamcons like Rich Cossaboon and
Rick Salvati and Chris Braymen and Steve Pitman and Tom
Osretich, whose faces we rarely see but who we sense are
always with us in spirit. And they may be new to the Adam
community, but don't forget to add Marcel deKogel and Will
Nerini to your good-guys list - I'll bet Will would just love
a nice parcel of hits for his new website.

Finally, Santa, you'll know there are some very deserving people
I've overlooked, long-term contributors who have temporarily
dropped out of sight, those long-suffering and endlessly patient
wives - or husbands - who humour our eccentric obsession, the
largely silent group we rarely see and rarely hear from but
nevertheless keep giving our activist endeavours their unqual-
ified support. So if I've passed too many by, Santa, well, your
database is better than mine, so please include them in your
delivery to the whole Adam community of-

A REALLY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS.
Rich (and Frances) Clee

***************************************************************

AND there you have it! From the Clee's, Rich's "wish list" for
Christmas this year. This is a NEAT idea and it should not stop
here. The best thing to wish for is that we can get some more
people interested in the ADAM this year, encourage them to go
into the "guts" of the thing and explore it, because that is how
you are going to learn about computers the best. When I talk to
someone for instance, about how to look for something on the dos
machine, or run a program, or even load one into the computer, I
tell them I learned how back in the days before Windows. They
mostly just stand there and can not believe that you can do any-
thing if it doesn't have the pretty pictures. My own brother,
who started on an Apple II, thinks he can get into Compuserve
email as fast as I can in dos or the ADAM. He just don't know!
AND won't believe till some day I show him! Poor people, they
just don't know how slow they really are......tdk, tsk.......
